Mrs. Protz's 2nd Grade Class 2010-2011

Game Day Reward

For several years I have been using my clothespin system as a way for students to earn classroom rewards.  I have a ribbon, nothing fancy, hanging at the front of my classroom.  I use an empty baby wipe container to house the clothespins.  Each time the entire class does something well, I place clothespins on the ribbon.  When all of the clothespins have been placed on the ribbon, I think I use 30, the class gets to choose 3 options to vote on.  Students have chosen pajama day, hat day, a few minutes of outside play time, a few minutes of a movie, and on this particular occasion, they chose Game Day. These rewards don't last a long time, but they have a big impact on students' desire to earn rewards with good behavior.
