                                                             Hello Second Grader! 

I am so excited that you are going to be in my class this year.  I hope you have had a wonderful summer!  After 12 years of teaching, I still get excited about starting school each year.  Our classroom theme will be Hollywood Movie Stars.  This theme will be incorporated into many areas that we will be studying.  I have been working on some exciting new activities and projects for us.  I know you are going to grow and learn so much this year.  I want to invite you to come to school on August 10th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. to meet me and bring your school supplies.

Notes for Parents:

 I look forward to a wonderful year with your child and you.  I hope you will sign up to be a room mother/father and want to be involved in our classroom.  I love volunteers, and I love for parents to participate in special classroom projects.  I understand that many of us have to work during the day, so it is fine if you want to sign up to be a helper by sending supplies and treats on special days.  

 On Tuesday, Meet the Teacher Day, I will have tables set up with areas labeled for school supplies.  Please help your child place their extra supplies in these areas.  

 It will help me out tremendously if you will do a few things for me at home before bringing the supplies to school.
*        With a permanent marker, write your child’s name on only 1 of each of the color folders in the bottom right corner (example: 1 red, 1 blue – Extra of each color should not have any writing.), scissors, school box, both boxes of crayons, each individual marker in the 8 pack, and glue sticks.
*        Please do not write names on binders, pencils, and all other supplies.
*    Separate construction paper into colors.  (Example: all red together, all blue together, etc.)
*    On the first day of school, we will do a group picture of our class.  To go along with our Hollywood theme, students are welcome to bring sunglasses, feather boas, or any other accessories that may tie in to our theme.

Hello there!  I am Mrs. Protz.  This will be my 12th year teaching 2nd grade.  I love teaching, and I love learning.  I have been at Cleveland Elementary my entire teaching career and plan to stay here as long as they will have me.  I love all subjects for different reasons and love making learning fun for my students.  
Here are a few personal things I also love:
1. I love God.
2. I love my husband Nathan and our families.
3. I love being with my friends.
4. I love the color green.
5.  I love to travel.
6. I love living on a farm.
7. I love to shop for clothes.
8. I love being an only child.
9. I love helping my husband with his photography business.
10.  I love being busy.
